The old west was a time of expansion and lawlessness in the North American Plains. This short period of history was crammed between the US Civil War and First Great War. Yet has been the subject of many books, movies, plays and the dreams of young terran males.
Like the Frontier of old, the Federation border with the Galactic core is an area of colonial expanison, danger and lawlessness. Deep Space 11 serves as an outpost in this current day "wildwest". Fighting back the dangers and unknowns threatening the Federation from the Gamma and Delta Quadrants.
The USS Huron-B is a New Orleans class starship assigned to DeepSpace 11 on the outskirts of Federation Space. Due to trading disputes between the major empires Starfleet has constructed an elaborate trading post / anti-smuggling station right at on the Fringes of Federation Space. The crew of the USS Huron faces danger, adventure and intrigue on a daily basis.
