The Forlorn Games team is pleased to announce the active development of a brand new game called Champion of the Gods, this game can be considered an expansion of our existing RPG Lands of Hope or a standalone game, as no prior knowledge of Lands of Hope or our other games will be required to play it.

This new game will be playable either directly through its own website, via Facebook or to some limited capacity via Internet enabled mobile phones.

Development of this game is well underway and it should be ready for release in the first quarter of 2010, for those of you who wish to get a sneak peek we will be holding a limited trial period later in the month around the holiday season.

Story
A fantasy setting, set during the time of King Arthur, Merlin and Morgana although these three are dead. This is central to the storyline!

The game takes part 40 years after a massive battle that led to the death of Arthur and the disappearance of Merlin and Morgana (as opposing forces).

With no strong leadership the people of Albion have regressed back to worshipping the old gods, and finding faith wherever they can.

The undead army Morgana raised has splintered and now roams around Albion seemingly with no leader, raiding parties frequently attack villages and strange monsters roam the night.

About the Game
You begin the game by choosing one of 5 background stories:

Noble
Peasant
Explorer
Gypsy
Intellect
These have nothing to do with a class/profession and serve as additional story elements in conjunction with the main game storyline of stopping the undead!

You begin the game in a small village called Greenpastures where you acquire basic knowledge of the game and then you have a choice to align yourself to one of the main faiths in the game, these faiths are what essentially determine your class.

White Order (followers of Merlin), Wizards and Healers.
Red Covenant (followers of Morgana), Sorcerers and Witches.
Order of the Blade (followers of Arthur), Knights and Berserkers.
Keeper of Secrets, Rogues and Assassins.
Guardians of the Woods, Druids and Rangers.
Entertainers Circle, Bards and Archaeologists.
After completing a short story driven quest arc inside an old tomb, you can then choose a specialization i.e. become a Wizard if you are a member of the White Order.

Features:

Planned 5000 Levels instead of 1000 Levels of game play.
Condensed game window, with simplified interface.
Diverse combat powers.
Plenty of crafting skills.
Over 30,000 weapons and items to craft.
Plenty of quests, both generic and storyline based to progress your character and its place in the world.
Neat story specific skills such as Silvertongue, Noble Privilege, Begging, Ancient Dialects and Treasure Seeking.
Special Followers (pets).
Experience based leveling.
Unique and interesting map system. Allowing for travel to discovered map points, certain quests will unlock points on the maps ... depending on story choice you may end up with a completely different set of map locations than someone in another story.

Guilds
Lots of other cool stuff.....

About Lands of Hope
Lands of Hope, is a persistent browser based online role playing game, dwarfing most other games in this genre by its size and playability.

Set in the fictional land of Myzan, you can choose to play LoH as one of 4 Allegiances (Neutral, Exile, Society and Reaper), the story is still in its infancy but revolves around the age old rivalry between the Exiles and Society and the growing power of the undead allegiance known as the Reapers.

As you journey around the 12 massive realms that make up Myzan you will encounter hundreds of monsters, thousands of quests and gain new powers.

Lands of Hope features a very comprehensive interface system that allows you to access game features through menus, there are hundreds of menus and over 800 screens that make up the game.

There are few browser based games like LoH and its staff is dedicated to ensuring that it stays like it!
